(More info about the race in the next posting.)
We then continued to Dayton, WY (which after living in Dayton, OH for 5 years Ryan has proclaimed that Dayton, WY is the BEST Dayton!!) to Trudy and Dave's awesome ranch. They were fabulous hosts and welcomed us into their cozy cabin. We definitely had the best accommodations around.
Friday we headed back into Sheridan and cruised Main street and had fun looking in the local shops and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. This was our first family vacation with the just the four of us that didn't include a visit to a set of grandparents or other family. While we love visiting family, this was an absolutely fabulous experience!!
Pictures can tell the story even better than I can so here goes....
View of the Big Horn Mountains from our cabin deck
The friendly peacock that provided lots of entertainment for the girls
We were a little nervous to have all four of us sleeping in the same room, but there was no need for the worry. We all slept great! The first night the girls got a little snuggle time in before settling into their own beds.
Breakfast time!
Matigan getting close to the Rhino on Main St.

As if the peacock, horses, and dogs weren't enough entertainment there were baby chicks too! Trudy was so great with Matigan and helped her hold a chick

Friday afternoon we went up to the Tongue River Trail Head so that Ryan could get a feel for a part of the trail he would be running the following day. We took a little hike up to this foot bridge and took in the breathtaking scenery.
I hadn't seen my godmother, Trudy, in over a decade, but she was so wonderful to catch up with and easy to talk to. The girls just loved seeing her and being at her home (as did Ryan and I)!
Friday night we spent with Trudy and her husband Dave and their youngest son, Ian. The whole Munsick clan (there are two other sons; Tris and Sam) are very talented singers and musicians. Dave and Ian played us a great song with Dave on the guitar and Ian on the Mandolin. Sarah didn't stop staring at them and dancing the whole time! Matigan clapped and danced too. It was such a treat to hear them sing before they headed off to a gig in town.I will put together another posting soon to include the details of Ryan's race and the great pictures we got throughout the special day.
