Catching up with the Joneses

We were so lucky to have my dad and his wife Mary Pat visit us for a week! We made signs to welcome them. (I wrote out the words in pencil and Matigan traced over them. She got all the way to the "o" in "Welcome" and then went rogue. The end result was still much appreciated, however!)


The girls absolutely LOVED their time with Grandma and Grandpa and it was so wonderful for me and Ryan to see how their relationships are growing. The visit started off with a 24 hour date for me and Ryan. We ventured all the way to Lakewood to spend time with our great friends Jen and Mike. Jen and I enjoyed leisurely pedicures while the guys enjoyed a beer and some darts at the pub. We stayed the night at their house and filled our time with Wii Skiing, Chinese take out, and lots and lots of laughs!

Meanwhile, Matigan and Sarah had such fun with Grandma and Grandpa. (Matigan had actually asked us to leave a few times so her and Sarah could have their special Grandma and Grandpa time and when we came back she said "you're back already"?) We are so blessed that the girls love their alone time with all of their grandparents.


We also had the chance to catch up with my Aunt Patti and Uncle Jim as well as my cousin Ka'imi.


Although the middle of Dad and Mary Pat's visit was spent helping to prep our kitchen for a little remodel (more on that in another post) we still had a great time. We really wish that the distance between our house and their place in Georgia wasn't so big. However, we cherish the times we have together and carry the memories until the next time we can spend time with each other.
